MC Crystalize was initiated into the UK MC family in the late 80s / early 90s, serving his time and paying his dues on community radio and local gigs.

Djing & MCing, a perfect combination for the fast growing art and early years of MCing in the newly born UK Jungle scene ,the grandfather of drum and bass and its new grandchild, Dubstep. Crytsalize in the following years joined 'Subliminal Darkness', one of Manchester's first hip hop families and went on to MC at gigz with the likes of Jurassic 5, Company Flo and Fun Lovin Criminalz to name a few.

Subliminal Darkness were one of the original innovators of hip hop in the City (Online Content Editor - I remember this well, in 1997/98 we hosted a launch party with Ear to the Ground at SankeysSoap, creating and dropping all the visuals for the 'Earthtones' launch, a new Manchester label that featured Subliminal Darkness, Spellbound and King Rib - members who later went on to form Simian Mobile Disco)

Subliminal Darkness released numerous singles and mix tapes on the underground scene, a time Crystalize dubs his 'MC University' . This time as part of 'Subliminal Darkness' featured MCing alongside the UK top ten 'Uncut' vocalist and BBC 1 Xtra presenter, local Moss Sider cutting vocals alongside Crystalize, Jenna G.

Crystalize is currently on a tour of MC duty up and down the UK, by day he works representing Manchester's Zion Arts Centre as the venues lead on creative development, delivering key work such as MC workshops in order to empower young people through music with life skills. Crystalize is simultaneously collaborating with very different art forms and artists to piece together his next solo album, 'Immunisable'.

About to do a gig with PBS6 at the Sage Gateshead, Crystalizse joins local Mancunian beatboxer Jason Singh and PBS6 members, Will Lang, Katie Wighton, Tessa Smith, Shona Kipling and Tom Wright on stage. This UK and Australian collaboration of musicians and singers are an emerging force to be listened to.
