In the current national stance on cultural diversity, showcase festivals and event platforms have been asked to open channels for active participation with artists of minority backgrounds and disability and engage with key showcase festival events such as Decibel.

You may think this is encouraging sign of the times, but theres a number key questions that have been raised by the North West regional hub on the subject.These questions include;

  • What makes a 'Black' festival 'Black'?
  • What does a festival offer Sector Artists?
  • What happens post Decibel?

Three North West Sector artists respond to the questions through taking individual position and reflect on their experiences of showcase festivals and event platforms.
