Mumbai promises to be an amazing event – with the introduction of 100 Un-
Convention Fellowships enabling musicians from all around India the opportunity
to attend the event with speakers that are coming together tolook to the future of independent music; to understand how it functions, to discuss, debate; provide insight and inspiration.
“This is an amazing opportunity to partner with an inspirational team (Only Much
Louder) in India who are building the infrastructure for a new music industry in an
emerging economy. It is a very exciting time in India right now and there is a lot of
talent and development of an alternative music scene.”
Ruth Daniel, Un-Convention UK
"We are quite excited to host the first Un-convention in India. The few music
conferences in India so far have focussed on industry only, completely alienating
musicians. We hope to change that with Un-convention Mumbai. With the Un-
Convention fellowships we are trying to make sure younger musicians can be a
part of it as well."

Background
Founded in October 2008, Un-convention goes from strength to strength in galvanizing this sector of the industry, bringing together indie labels, artists, entrepreneurs, strategists, and a whole host of key figures to discuss issues and generate new ideas.
It’s unique, artist driven, and regionally programmed agendas have proven to be an
inspiration for many, and has already lead to the format being exported to The
Netherlands; Australia; Germany and Spain, and with plans coming together for next year’s UK events in Birmingham, Salford, Leeds, London and Glasgow, Un-Conventionis well on its way to building an international network for the independent music sector.
Alongside the ever expanding network of events, Un-Convention has also started to
develop a free to use online music resource, specifically aimed at grass roots companies and artists, to act as a hub for disseminating new ideas and solutions for the music industry. The Un-Convention site, which will also act as the centre point for debate surrounding events is set to launch early next year. The site will contain rich digital content including video and audio from each event.
